The 2 questions we would like to ask
1. What does community look like to you?
2. How would you make your community better?

Community
Has your community changed in the last few months? Has lockdown made it better or worse?
Whilst life in lockdown has been inconvenient for everyone, it has undoubtedly been so much harder for those needing support, physically or mentally. It certainly has given those deemed to be at risk or living with some form of physical or mental disability, more challenges and hurdles to attend to.
The affects of the lockdown have seen neighbours that were once strangers, now become friends. Those without close family or friends may have felt more alienated during lockdown. In some case we have seen positive effects, communities pulling together to help each other. Just like 99-year-old Captain Tom Moore raising money for the NHS, clap for carers and people delivering food for their elderly neighbours.
Community is different for everyone. Everyone engages with their community in a different way. Whether it’s a family unit, work colleagues, social groups, care centres, neighbours, friends or carers.
“There is no power for change greater than a community discovering what it cares about.” Margaret J. Wheatley

Can we make things better?
It has been reported that millions of people across the globe are feeling vulnerable due to the impending recession and worries about their livelihood, therefore social injustices are more important to people at this time.
The terrible and senseless act of the killing of George Floyd caught on camera in America caused a global outcry. It has rightly brought communities together to instigate change by educating people, changing communities and raising awareness about inclusion.
We are looking for people to contribute, to tell your story, to give your opinion on your community. Regardless what your community looks like. Your contribution can come in the form of a written blog or video message. There is no right or wrong answers, just real stories about real lives.
Whatever your story is we want to hear it.
What does community mean to you?
Community is different for everyone, lets talk about and see if we can make positive changes together.
