Michelle Ferguson

I’m really excited to be part of Really Real Resources, as a parent of someone with complex needs, I am passionate about sharing information in order to support people with respect and understanding to allow them to flourish and be who they are.

I have many years of experience the Third Sector having worked for Cash for Kids North East Scotland for 13 years, 8 of them as Chairty Manager. Chair of Down’s Syndrome Scotland both nationally and locally and was a member of their Board for 18 years.

Elaine Sutherland

I’ve been a Trustee at Really Real Resources since 2024.  Although I have a BEng (Hons) in Chemical Engineering, I spent 25 years working in HR for a US-headquartered global life sciences company, which is actually where my passion for diversity and inclusion really took root.

I’m retired from that world now, but far from done. Alongside my work with RRR, I volunteer as an advisor with Citizens Advice, and whenever I get the chance, I love to travel.

What keeps me motivated with RRR is simple: I want young people to grow up seeing inclusion as second nature, not something they have to think twice about. That’s exactly what our Education Packs are designed to do, and it’s a privilege to be part of making that happen.

Ally Carle

I’m really excited to be part of Really Real Resources and the positive impact it’s having in schools.

Following a career break from the NHS, I first entered teaching 12 years ago as a physics teacher. I have always been passionate about young people’s wellbeing and moved into a guidance post, where I felt I could use more of my skills. As a guidance teacher, my day-to-day work involves supporting young people’s wellbeing and removing barriers to learning, which involves specifically looking at inclusion and creating opportunities for every learner to feel valued.

It’s been fantastic to be involved from the early stages of the Down’s Syndrome packs and to see how positively pupils engage with the resources. The work RRR is doing brings learning to life and supports meaningful, inclusive conversations in the classroom.

Director Dave

Dave is Graham’s dog, a Parsons Jack Russell. He’s on the board of RRR because as a dog he is non-judgemental and he gives unconditional love. Values which underpin everything we do. He wants to contribute more and is patiently waiting for the first paw friendly keyboard but for now just dictates his responses when you write to us at dave@reallyrealresources.com

Graham Miller

Graham is founder and CEO of Really Real Resources.

The photographs used in RRR materials, so far, have been taken by him over the last fifteen years. He has a BSc (Hons)in Chemistry and much more recently an MA in Documentary Photography and Photojournalism, with distinction, from the prestigious University of the Arts London. His final year project focussed on Down’s Syndrome.

He is regarded as an expert in Authentic Representation and Lived Experience, using photography, and is passionate about showing people as who they ‘really’ are.

He has over 40 years of experience in global business development.

Margot MacAlister

I am a values-driven Headteacher with over 16 years of experience in this role, I have been recognised at a national and local level for creating inclusive and nurturing school communities.

As a passionate advocate for nurture as a whole school approach, I have developed learning environments to ensure high quality learning and teaching, ensuring that needs of all children are met especially those facing barriers.

Currently I am chairperson of the Inclusion Board for Edinburgh City Council and the Edinburgh representative for the Association of Heads and Depute Scotland.

To ensure I can continue to flourish as a leader my personal interests are open water swimming, Pilates and appreciating the beautiful Scottish outdoors.

Sarah Mackinnon

I am a communications and administration professional with a varied background which includes public engagement and research impact across higher education, arts and culture, healthcare and the third sector. At Really Real Resources, I support the team with the development, promotion and sale of inclusive learning resources. She has worked with organisations including the University of Edinburgh, Ipsos Mori, ASCUS Art & Science, the National Galleries of Scotland and NHS Lothian. I enjoy roles where creativity and communication have a practical social impact.

Alongside this, I have substantial hands-on experience working with children, including as an SSSC-registered playworker supporting children from nursery age through to primary school. I have also volunteered with children’s charities abroad and in a communications role with LINKnet, an ethnic minority mentoring charity in Edinburgh.
