I’ve spent over 15 years getting to know people, building trust based on respect. I value the privilege offered to me in being allowed access to what are often very challenging lives and situations.

Really Real Resources, our images and Learning Packs, are a consequence of that approach. They are a direct challenge to poor stock library images and now the rise of AI. We show lives, we show whole people. Our pilot study within schools, with impact analysis measured by the globally respected Centre for Minority Research at the University of St Andrews, clearly shows the importance of what we do. Our charity partners understand the value of documentary photography, and our unique approach to education, and there is increasing demand to
work with us.

We want to share our know–how, and so in early 2027 we will be inviting two new photographers to apply for some modest grant funding, from our profits, to support work on some of those important causes. We will, at the same time, provide mentorship and what is effectively a short cut to understanding how to do what we do. It’s the intention the work will then be included in one of Learning Packs. It will be a condition of working with us that photographers agree to licence their work to us at no cost should we choose to use it.
